Mrs. Tatum's Third Grade Class Has a Painting Party

On December 11, 2015, Mrs. Tatum’s third grade class at Nixon Elementary, had a painting party from The Potters’ Obsession. Students participated in painting two ornaments. The Potters’ Obsession is a local painting place located in Cedar Rapids, just off of Center Point Road.

One of their holiday contests that they have had for the past three years, is a Classroom Painting Party for teachers. Our third grade teacher, Mrs. Tatum, entered her class for the contest on Facebook. From here, Mrs. Tatum spread the word to encourage “likes” on her post, as the contest was about who could get the most likes for their classroom.

After winning, The Potters’ Obsession brought all the materials to Nixon for students to participate in their painting party. The party included two ornaments to paint, a candy cane, and holiday music. The entire class loved the experience, and were so thankful for the opportunity from The Potters’ Obsession. Mrs. Tatum says, “If you haven’t been to The Potters’ Obsession, it is an absolutely necessary place to check out! I am not an artist, but still love going, and taking my daughter!”
