Nixon Elementary was named after Richard Milhouse Nixon, the 37th
President of the United States, while he was still in office.

Nixon opened on August 31, 1970.

In 1986-87 Nixon received The FINE (First in the National Education) Award.

The walking trail around Nixon was dedicated on October 8, 1992.

Richard Nixon’s brother, Ed, visited Nixon for the 25th Anniversary, in April of 1995.

The US Department of Education named Nixon Elementary a Blue Ribbon School in 2009.
