3rd Grade Perimeters

Mrs. Tatum’s third grade class has been studying perimeters over the last week in math. The students in her math class investigated perimeters through a hands-on learning activity. Mrs. Tatum created shapes out of painters tape on the floor, and students had to measure the side lengths and total the perimeter of each of the shapes. This was an engaging activity for students to get the opportunity to collaborate with a partner, talk about math, develop their measurement skills, and continue their study of perimeters.
